Faraday Future has completed the FX Super One's first round of FMVSS development tests for occupant protection related to upper interior head impact, with results in line with expectations after testing at MGA Research in Troy, Michigan, as the company advances production readiness.

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 22, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. (Nasdaq: FFAI) ("FF", "Faraday Future", or the "Company") announced that the FX Super One MPV has successfully completed its first round of U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) development tests for occupant protection related to upper interior head impact. The Company said the test results are in line with project expectations for this phase.

The FMVSS No. 201 development tests evaluate occupant protection for upper interior head impact, assessing how vehicle interior components—including A-pillars, B-pillars, and roof trim—protect occupants’ heads during contact with upper interior surfaces, particularly in rollover scenarios. Tests were conducted at the MGA Research facility in Troy, Michigan using a Free Motion Head (FMH) form at multiple regulation-defined locations and additional locations selected by Faraday Future. The Head Injury Criterion (HIC) was recorded and analyzed for each impact point.

"The positive results for our FX Super One development tests are in-line with our expectations at this phase of the project and provides confidence in order to deliver the vehicle’s safety development of the project in a timely manner," said Andrew Hall, Director, Safety, CAE & Homologation at FF. The Company noted the test was part of a series of vehicle safety development tests.

Xiao (Max) Ma, Global CEO of Faraday X, said, "We sincerely thank the team for their efforts. We are confident to complete the relevant testing and validation work with high quality and to high standards within a relatively short timeframe, as we continue to advance the project with strong momentum."

The FX Super One is in a trial production phase at Faraday Future’s manufacturing facility in Hanford, California. The trial production work is focused on planning and verifying production processes, operational workflows, and quality standards; engineers and production staff at the Hanford factory are undergoing specialized training to support production readiness. The vehicle was unveiled on July 17 in Los Angeles, where Faraday Future demonstrated the Super EAI F.A.C.E. (Front AI Communication Ecosystem) and the FF EAI Embodied AI Agent 6x4 Architecture.

Faraday Future’s FX strategy is described by the Company as a three-model line intended to broaden the addressable market, offering two powertrain options: range-extended AIEV and battery-electric. The Company has launched an online reservation portal for the FX Super One, signaling a shift from prior B2B deposit activity toward consumer bookings.

Following the trial production phase, the Company stated it will proceed with comprehensive vehicle engineering, which includes continued safety testing, development, and validation. The Company said these efforts are integral to ensuring the FX Super One meets applicable quality, performance, safety, and end-user experience standards.
