Mercedes-Benz partners with Microsoft to embed high-end productivity tools including Teams and AI assistant 365 Copilot in their latest CLA model, delivering a secure, user-friendly mobile work environment with advanced digital features set to launch this summer.

Mercedes-Benz has stepped up its collaboration with Microsoft, now integrating some pretty high-end business productivity tools directly into their cars — and they kicked things off with the new CLA model. This move really ramps up the digital workspace inside the vehicle, making it easier for busy professionals to stay connected and productive, even when they’re on the road. At the heart of this development is the new Microsoft Teams feature, which is now embedded within the MB.OS-powered fourth-generation MBUX system. And, interestingly enough, it’s all set to start rolling out this summer.

One of the coolest features here is that drivers will be able to join Teams calls through the car’s in-built camera. Obviously, safety regulations are a big deal, so the system is smart enough to switch off the video stream as soon as the camera starts, helping to minimize distractions while still allowing for audio communication. Along with this, they’ve improved the user interface — with a dashboard that shows upcoming meetings, quick access to favorite contacts, and a bigger chat window. All of these tweaks are aimed at making business communications smoother when you’re on the go.

Mercedes has really positioned itself as a pioneer by being the first OEM to integrate Microsoft Intune natively into a vehicle operating system. What does that mean? Basically, it makes for a secure, manageable work environment right inside the car, allowing users to keep their personal data separate from work stuff. IT admins also get better control with tools to manage access rights and enforce security policies — pretty handy for companies that need to stay compliant. These features are compatible with Microsoft apps like MBUX Notes and Calendar, and they’re rolling out in markets like Europe and the US.

But that’s not all — Mercedes-Benz and Microsoft are also working together to bring Microsoft 365 Copilot into the mix. Yep, the same AI assistant you might know from your regular device, now coming to your vehicle. It’s a pretty groundbreaking step in the auto industry because it supports drivers and passengers by summarizing emails, fetching client info, managing schedules — all through voice commands. Essentially, the car becomes an extra mobile office, supplementing traditional workspaces at home or in the office.

Ola Källenius, the boss of Mercedes-Benz Group, said something that really sums it up well: “Thanks to our industry-leading partnership with Microsoft, it’s now even easier for our customers to stay productive while on the move.” He added that integrating tools like Microsoft Teams into their new MB.OS makes for a user-friendly, safe experience that not only boosts efficiency but also helps cut down distractions.

All in all, with these advances, Mercedes-Benz isn’t just trying to jazz up the digital experience; they’re also addressing the rising need for secure, seamless mobile work setups among business pros. It’s totally aligned with the broader trend of embedding smart digital ecosystems within vehicles — and really setting new industry standards for productivity and connectivity in the automotive world.
